Ms. Irene Kai

Ms. Kai is an internationally known author, artist, speaker, and business woman. Her book The Golden Mountain: Beyond the American Dream received three US national awards, and is used as a model textbook in universities for students who learn English as a Second Language and for Women’s Studies. Her book is highly respected as a cultural bridge between China and the US, which was demonstrated when she and her work were highlighted at the 2006 Committee of 100 international conference “America and China: A View from the Bridge.” Ms. Kai’s art exhibit caused a stir in Los Angeles, and the gallery reception honored this Chinese American woman who has taken a creative stand to go beyond bias, prejudice and false perception. Mr. Kai has been a frequent guest on radio and TV, and is a keynote speaker and lecturer for US-China cultural exchange topics in highly esteemed national committees and organizations. She serves as the President of Silver Light International, a subdivision of Silver Light Publications, Inc.
Ms. Kai received a Masters of Design from the Royal College of Art in London and was an Instructor of Design at Penn State University in Pennsylvania. As a very successful African Art Importer, she traveled extensively to countries in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia and is fluent in Chinese (Cantonese). Ms. Kai is a long time supporter of peace initiatives. She is a director at Pathways To Peace, a United Nations Peace Messenger Organization and her inspiring Peace Dove image hangs in the United Nations building in New York City and is used a logo around the world on the International Day of Peace. In today’s global world, Ms. Kai’s passion is to bring cultural understanding to help establish our awareness of global interconnectedness and well being. Mr. Wick is Vice President of Silver Light International, a subdivision of Silver Light Publications, Inc. and Executive Director of Southern Oregon Sustainable Business Network. He has served as founder and Managing Director of TBL 21 (Triple Bottom Line for the 21st Century) and Adjunct Professor, Major in Management Program, School of Business, Southern Oregon University. Mr. Wick is co-founder and served as the award-winning publisher at Silver Light Publications. He has over 30 years of executive and management training and organizational development consulting experience, and has held important positions within Sun Microsystems, Stanford University, Levi Strauss and the European Foundation for Management Development. At Sun Microsystems Mr. Wick received a company-wide academy award, for his first-of-its-kind in the Silicon Valley, Mini-MBA Program. He has designed extensive international training programs, and has received accolades in both the business and peace building arenas. He has been responsible for corporate programs in Spain, Hong Kong, France, India, Belgium and Canada. He is currently working with Olympian Marilyn King to develop her breakthrough, high performance product Olympian Thinking.
In 1983 Mr. Wick helped launch the United Nations NGO, Pathways To Peace, where he co-founded the visionary project Peace Within Organizations. In 1995, he began facilitating the international five-year "Inquiry into Peace Building through Business.” Mr. wick has assisted leading edge initiatives such as the Thought Leader Gatherings (Silicon Valley, CA), The Presidio Dialogues (San Francisco, CA), and co-created The Rogue Valley Wisdom Councils, "...bringing new life to democracy" in Southern Oregon. He currently lives in Ashland, Oregon and is a leader in establishing relationships with China for sustainable commerce, tourism, education and international well being.
